Saltillo
Saltillo is the capital city of Coahuila which is located in the northeastern corner of Mexico, near the American border. The city of Saltillo is known by many business people as one the of the most important industrial and textile cities in the world. Among the many manufacturing companies found in this city, the Daimler Chrysler and General Motors automobile factories stand out the most. The vehicles assembled here are exported to Canada, Japan and Central America. Apart from these industrial activities, Saltillo is also home a number of important chemical and metalworking factories.
The traditional cuisine of Saltillo is delicious and extensive, filled with great variety of meats and sauces. Saltillo and the nearby city of Torreon produce at least 40% of all the country's milk. The temperature here is either very warm or very cold, so it is recommended to dress well for each occasion. The low winter temperature provides the city with the only designated skiing area in Mexico. Perhaps, after wearing a "Sarape" (poncho) and eating a traditional milky candy, you may be able to regulate your body temperature much faster.
